Welcome to Riviera Maya (Near Playa del Carmen)

Riviera Maya is on the Caribbean side of Mexico not far from Playa del Carmen. Many on this site feel the Grand Mayan property at Riviera Maya is the most beautiful and comfortable of all the Grupo Vidanta resorts. Furthermore, many make the point that there are many more historical sites to see on the Caribbean side than on the Pacific side.

Well, that may be true. The water is beautiful, the beaches are accessible, there are ruins that date before Christianity and the weather is generally very pleasant. So, what's not to like? Perhaps the Riviera Maya is the best of the resorts. It may well be when the Grand Luxxe buildings open in November.
