La Jolla de Cortes - The Mayan Palace and Peninsula Golf Course
The Mayan Palace resort is located on a beautiful, extended beach in an area called La Jolla de Cortes. La Jolla de Cortes is an approximately 25,000-acre private urban development that is owned by Grupo Vidanta and located about 20 miles south of Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point).A new resort building has been under construction since 2008. Initially thought to be a Grand Mayan, there is no official word as to when construction will be completed or if the facility will become a Grand Mayan or some other resort facility.
