One member said he was told that the benefit lies in our ability to use these getaway weeks to return to the Luxxe for the price of a maintenance fee. In essence, members were told these Premium Getaway Weeks would provide us with access to more weeks than the number of Registered and Vacation Fair weeks that we initially purchased.
Sounds great!
So, we called our Customer Service Rep to ask for an explanation how this "Premium Getatway Week" program works. She acknowledged that there is such a program that is under development. However, she could not tell us how it works, what it actually means or when members would be officially notified of the details.
We also called our sales person. He verified that the program is under development and said details would be available at a later date.
Then we talked to Interval International. Our most recent conversation with a customer service representative was today. She said she is not aware of the "Premium Getaway Week" program. In fact, she explained that the developer receives all fees associated with getaway weeks. Interval International is paid something, but do not know what it is.
She also explained the getaway week program provides developers with a way to sell unused weeks that are in the developers' inventories. This is inventory that they, the developers cannot sell on their own. As a result, availability at locations with getaway weeks appears in the Interval inventory anywhere from 45 days to 6 months before the availability date expires. It does not seem this process would allow anyone to make reservations more than 4 to 6 months in advance.
The bottom line as of today: we still do not have a clear understanding of the Interval International Premium Getaway Week program offered by the Grupo Vidanta / Mayan resorts to Luxxe Residence Club members.
If anyone has information they would like to share with us that validates the existence of the Premium Getaway Week program in writing, please let us know. We would love to share it with everyone.
In the meantime, Stay Tuned.

Interval International
March 23, 2009
A number of Luxxe residence members have asked about the "Premium Getaway Weeks" that their sales persons and managers promised them at the time they purchased their units. We were also told that we would be receiving two weeks annually for ten years and later that they would be granted for the "life of our contract". But we have received nothing in writing. One member said he was told that the benefit lies in our ability to use these getaway weeks to return to the Luxxe for the price of a maintenance fee.
