Estates Update
January 15, 2020
The Estates Division operates on Vidanta properties in the states of Jalisco, Quintana Roo and Baja California Sur. Construction projects are underway on each property, with those projects in Jalisco being the furthest along.Jalisco:
1. The Pods: One Pod is enclosed and appears to have windows installed in some of the units. There is no word on when the units will be ready for occupancy, but sales personnel have speculated with confidence that the first units will have soft openings in November, 2020. An Aimfair member is looking forward to reserving weeks in March, 2021. We will see because the following photos suggest there is much to be done before any units can be occupied.2. The Central Plaza: According to maps on the walls in the Grand Mayan Sales Center and the International Sales Floor in the Grand Bliss, there are plans for a Central Plaza that will be surrounded by five pods with three wings like the first pod, and five pods with one four bedroom wing and two wings with one and two bedrooms each. The map is a current rendering, but it is subject to change.
3. Golf Courses and Academy: Caddy discussions about golf course changes have been fairly accurate. The current possibilities include a driving range on the west side of the suspension bridge and extending west of the new white building at the end of the bridge. The white building will become the golf academy and be accessible to both Luxxe and Estates owners.
Also, there will be at least two new holes just north of Pod #1. Given the way the Nayar 7th and 8th holes are now so closely configured on the north side of the bridge, there conceivably could be three holes there too.
In addition, there are two holes under construction on the east side of the Norman eastern most holes. There could be an easterly shift of Norman holes and a southerly shift of the Nayar 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th holes across the river. The result could be the first 9 Nayar holes on the Jalisco side of the river and the remaining 9 Nayar holes in their current locations.
4. Infrastructure Buildings: Two sizeable buildings are under construction next to the road the parallels the airport runway to the beach. We call it the Boca de Tomates Road because the road terminates at the Boca de Tomates beach. A number of restaurants are out there, and the beach is heavily used by locals both day and night.
5. Crocadile Reserve: Located at the end of the road is the Boca de Tomates Crocadile Reserve:
Crocs in the Crocadile Reserve at the end of Boca de Tomates Road.
Riviera Maya:
1. The Pods: A single Pod is enclosed at the Riviera Maya site. It may be as far along as the Jalisco Pod, but it is hard to tell. There is one indicator of progress is the creation of a paved road to the Pod. This is a new development and could mean the Pod will become available as a model soon. Otherwise, there is no evidence of infrastructure there, and the location is a half mile from the highway and isolated for now. There has been some discusson about installing a gondola to access the Pod but there is no evidence of any construction of that nature taking place there now.
East Cape:
1. The Buildings: Plans are plentiful but building is taking time. The location is "Off the Grid" so to speak. No electricity, no water, no sewer, just a beautiful area with new buildings under construction. Word from Sales is East Cape opening will follow opening of The Park.Expectations are high. We all hear how the Estates will be "over the top" and compete directly with the projects in place at Punta Mitia and farther north. The service component at these establishments that are held high as examples of luxury accommodations. Management assurances that the Estates will be equal to or better than those in the north have Estates owners saying "prove it".
